Meet our amazing volunteers past and present!
Chloe came to Involve to gain work experience as part of her degree and to learn valuable skills to help future job prospects. Chloe has been involved in all of our sessions for five weeks now and she has become a very valued member of the team. We asked her what she enjoyed most in her time here and how it has helped her to develop new skills that she can utilise in her chosen future career and she said this;
I have enjoyed getting involved and helping with the craft activities, and meeting new people, it’s a really fun place to be and the staff are welcoming. I have developed my communication skills through basic sign and to encourage service users to do things for themselves while helping them which I found very rewarding. I really enjoyed my time at Involve and hope to come back in the summer holidays.” |
I am currently working towards my childcare diploma within the university of Suffolk. I joined Involve to try and gain the confidence I needed to progress with my diploma and career.
Working at Involve has been so rewarding not only for my career but for myself as an individual. I am more driven, more confident and generally happier than ever! Ellie is now employed with Involve! |
My name is Aaron, I am a volunteer at involve. I came here after doing my sports and leisure LV3 Year 2 qualification at college. I came here to further gain confidence in teaching and helping others. I do sports sessions on Wednesdays, which has helped me to gain confidence when teaching, also helping me gain knowledge of different methods of teaching and learning different sessions to teach. I would recommend involve to any one that is looking to volunteer as it is such a comfortable place to work, everyone is easy to get along with.

My name is Stephen, I am a service user here at Involve but now also a volunteer maintenance person. Coming to Involve helps me to interact with other people. It makes me feel good about myself being able to come here and help with the maintenance. I would be bored sat at home not doing anything so it gets me out the house and socialising. Before I came here I was really bored.
Involve is a great place for volunteers and service users it makes a big difference in peoples lives. The staff and other volunteers are a great laugh and make you feel comfortable. |
I have been volunteering on Wednesdays since Easter 2019. It has been by far, my most enjoyable role to date. I have learnt so much from the Service Users & staff too.
Everyday is different & getting to know everyone has been an absolute joy. I always look forward to my day and leave with a smile on my face & a happy feeling.. At 54yrs, I've finally found something that I can do & really enjoy. The enjoyment I get from my role always means that I feel inspired to do my very best in return. I've had such good positive support & encouragement from everyone here. Volunteering at Involve has been life changing for me in a very positive way. Gill is now employed with Involve! 
My name is Melissa, I am a Volunteer here at Involve. Coming to Involve helps me to interact with other people. It makes me feel happy about myself being able to come here and help the service users. Before I came to Involve I wouldn't hardly socialise with no one and I had hardly no confidence but coming here has made me more confident. It was taught me different skills that I don't know about 5 years ago.
Involve has persuaded me to do this in my future. Melissa went on to gain employment in the care sector and we wish her every success in her chosen career path! |
My name is Kevin. Mini Bus driver at Involve. Started 3 August 2017 and the reason was job placement at the job center. I have become more confident and sociable with others at involve. I do pickups from schools on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday to bring them to involve that needs the transport. I enjoy cleaning up where needs cleaning. I make sure the Mini bus is regularly checked for health and safety, so everyone is safe. I enjoy working at Involve
